A new behind-the-scenes video from The Batman shows Robert Pattinson doing his first costume-cam test as Bruce Wayne alongside Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman.
A new The Batman A behind-the-scenes video of Robert Pattinson’s extended costume camera test has been released. The Dark Knight returned to the big screen after Ben Affleck’s iteration in the DCEU. What was originally intended to be Affleck’s solo film was instead revamped into a reboot in The Batman, edited by Matt Reeves. Rather than taking place in the DCEU, The Batman served as the start of a new standalone franchise with Pattinson as a younger iteration of Bruce Wayne.
Unlike the traditional Batman origin story, The Batman focused on Bruce’s second year as a crime fighter in Gotham. While not completely inexperienced, this Bruce Wayne/Batman has a long way to go to become the “world’s greatest detective” of his original comic book mythology. The Batman followed Bruce confronting serial killer Edward Nashton, aka The Riddler (Paul Dano), who was reimagined as a Zodiac Killer-like murderer. With a new Batman the reboot comes with new interpretations of various things in the Bruce mythology, which includes his iconic Batsuit, which has seen many variations over the decades.
A piece of The Batman marketing that many may remember is the iconic camera test sizzle that Reeves dropped in February 2020 as they prepared for principal photography. Now that Pattinson’s film has hit theaters and made its way to HBO Max, a closer look at the actor’s initial suit camera test has been revealed. Thanks to Robert Pattinson Photos Mediaa lengthy behind-the-scenes video has become available showing Pattinson’s test from January 20, 2020. Check out the full clip below:
It will certainly be interesting to see how Bruce develops his look in future episodes of The Batman franchise, given that this particular Batsuit felt like it was still a work in progress. Given that the plot took place during Bruce’s second year as Batman, audiences presumably only saw an early iteration of a suit that will evolve through batman 2 and other potential future films. If there’s room in the suite, maybe batman 2 could even include flashbacks giving a glimpse of Bruce’s very first costume. It’s also possible that it was something that would have been included in the plan. The Batman spin off GCPD series, which was supposed to take place during Batman’s first year and is currently on hold.
The Batman was not only a critical success, but the reboot also did well at the global box office, grossing $752.6 million. Among other elements of the film, Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz’s respective Batman and Catwoman costumes were hailed by many as embodying the darker, grittier version of this Caped Crusader story, and this video shows just how much work and planning were needed to create their unique looks. Given The Batmanof the success of Warner Bros., it’s only a matter of time before Warner Bros. batman 2and audiences will likely see an even more impressive and evolved version of Pattinson’s Batsuit when it hits screens.
