Police footage of Polo G’s 2021 Miami arrest surfaces online

Police body camera footage of Polo G’s 2021 arrest in Miami has surfaced online.

On Friday (July 29), TMZ released a short clip from police body camera video of Polo G’s arrest in Miami on June 12, 2021. In the clip, the 2020 XXL Freshman expresses having trouble breathing while sitting in the back of a police cruiser. According to the outlet, Polo demanded that he be examined by paramedics, who arrived at the scene shortly afterwards.

As the doctors try to examine him, Polo begs them to get him out of the car. “I’m going to die here, they’re trying to kill me,” he said.

“Have you ever heard of George Floyd? the Chicago rapper asked the doctors. “They’re trying to kill me here. Listen, they’re trying to lynch me here…please examine me.”

Polo appears distressed as he urgently tells medics that the police are ignoring his pleas that he cannot breathe in the cruiser and he suffocates. The 23-year-old rhymer was eventually taken to hospital for examination and was taken into custody by police. Watch the video below.

XXL has contacted Polo G representatives for comment.

The video is in stark contrast to the nearly 20-minute clip that was uploaded earlier this month. In this visual, the Hall of fame creator berates arresting officers and reservation staff.

In one segment, Polo claims cops kept him in the back of the cruiser for several hours with the windows rolled up and he passed out while in custody.

“I fell asleep and woke up and I was still in the back of that car. I have every right to be frustrated,” he said.

Polo was charged with resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and threatening an official. According to TMZ, the charges were eventually dropped after Polo completed his anger management course.
