CTMG will launch its “Online Creators of Color Pitch Contest” on September 19, 2022 on the CaribbeanTales and Creators of Color websites. After months of hard work by our Education Division, the highly anticipated contest is here and runs until voting closes at midnight, September 30.

The winner will be announced on social media and on the CaribbeanTales and Creators of Color sites on October 4.

Creators of Color Incubator (13th Edition) brings you BIPOC filmmakers’ projects from CaribbeanTales Black Incubator, Studio Access Project, and CineFam Limitless Incubator for women and non-binary creators. These 9-month training programs created a vehicle and funding for BIPOC creators to refine and package their projects, create proofs of concept, making them market-ready.

And now the results! For more than 20 years, CaribbeanTales Media Group, founded by award-winning filmmaker and Academy member Frances-Anne Soloman, set out to provide an ecosystem of screen-based activities that would serve BIPOC audiences. With activities ranging from creation, training, production, festivals to distribution. The program enriches, promotes and monetizes culturally diverse film and television content for a wide audience. CTMG has hosted hundreds of filmmakers from Canada and around the world.

CTMG sincerely acknowledges and thanks our funders: Telefilm Canada, Canada Media Fund, Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario and our sponsors: Panavision, Mongrel Media, WIFT, Trinity Square Video, Hall Webber, Grande Camera, Edwards Creative Law, Charles Street Video, EQ and Astrolab Studios.
