Family members and police search for a killer behind a shocking execution-style murder at a Fort Lauderdale convenience store that was caught on camera.
The crime occurred inside Tony’s Market, a convenience store near Sunrise Boulevard and Interstate 95 on March 13.
Surveillance footage from the store shows several people inside the store, including 34-year-old Steven Black.
At one point, a man in a black hoodie walks into the store, pulls out a gun, and fatally shoots Black near the entrance.
Colette Black, the victim’s mother, said she was shocked someone had targeted her son.
“He would do anything for anyone, a gentle giant that’s all he was, he would watch over anyone,” she said.
There’s a reward for information about Black’s death, and his family posted flyers around the neighborhood, but his mother said someone kept taking them down.
“We kicked them out but someone pulled them out, so we don’t know who’s doing this,” she said. “But someone knows what happened to my son, someone knows who did this to my son, and they just need to come forward.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
