WhatsApp is working on exciting updates for its users. The instant messaging app offers the ability to hide online status to some lucky beta testers, WABetaInfo reported. The update is rolling out through Google Play‘s beta program, bringing the version up to 2.22.20.9.

The website also shared a screenshot of the new feature. Users can check if the feature is available on their WhatsApp account by opening the WhatsApp setting, clicking open “Account” and then “Privacy”. Whether users can see the “Last seen and online” option. This means the feature is available to them.

“If the feature is enabled for your account, simply select ‘same as last seen’ so that your online presence is only shared with people who can already see your last seen: for example, if only your contacts can see your last seen, your online presence will not be shared with non-contacts; if no one can see your last connection, no one will be able to see when you are active on WhatsApp”, WABetaInfo wrote.
